- What purpose does God have in sharing with us the story of Adam and Eve?
- Why did Satan choose Eve to temp?
- What distinguishes Adam and Eve from the rest of creation?
- Did Eve sin before or after she ate the fruit?
- Did Adam sin a) before Eve ate the fruit b) when Eve ate the fruit or c) when he ate the fruit?
- What happened to Eve's faith in God between the temptation and the eating of the fruit that lead to sin?
- Was Adam responsible for Eve's sin? Why or why not?
- Why would God give Adam and Eve the potential to sin if He knew they would eat the fruit?
- If God ordained sin to happen, does that make Him the author of sin? Why or why not?
- Why would God be unhappy with Cain's offering if it were the first fruits God asked for?
- Why did God make a big deal out of the fact that the Sons of God married the daughters of men?
- Did God send the flood to wipe out the earth because He made a mistake?

Here are some answers to those questions. 1. It give us an account of creation and the coming of man, and it shows us what happened and what caused the fall. 2. If eve fell, then adam would too? 3. Sorry I could not make it to church Sunday. I could not get to sleep until like 5 in the morning for some reason. Anyway, here are my thoughts: (1) We are utterly depraved by our very nature as human beings. God deals with us covenantally; thus, when Adam sinned, as the head of the human race, we all sinned together in him. (2) Women are naive... jk. Because he wanted to attack, as he always does, the most vulnerable places in humanity. He wanted to show, additionally, that even the strength of man, which is seen in the male...

1) God's purpose for the Adam/Eve story is to show the origin of sin, man's depravity and present the problem within the overall story of Creation. 2)Satan chose Eve because she was more easily deceived. However, Adam was with her so this poses another problem. Was Adam deceived as well? we know he wasn't because Paul tells us that it was Eve who was deceived not Adam. So what was Adam doing during this whole ordeal while he was standing next to her? Did He let her eat the fruit or did she do it without Him seeing what was...

.... Mark asks hard questions. ;-) More seriously.... I think several of the above questions are ultimately surrounded in mystery. We simply do not know much about the cause of sin, because the Bible puts much less emphasis on that issue than its effects.

I think God makes it His job to confuse us. Because, if we don't know all the answers we have to trust God and His plan. So, that is why I think God only reveals some of what He knows. I think Adam was incredibly irresponsible, but Eve was also at fault. Question 11, Because God knew men were weak when it cames to women. God wants men to marry strong women who will encourage them in their faith. Unbelieving women will draw men away from God. Question 8: Because if God had not allowed us to sin He would...

(1) God tells us the story of Adam and Eve, because it starts the path that leads to the cross. If we didn't have the story of Adam and Eve we would not understand why we need the cross in the first place.
